Play in Four Cantos
Live Byron’s life as an unfolding poem. Each canto reveals a new side of his rise and ruin. Choose your scenes and shape the myth as it’s written.
Mad, bad, and dangerous to know. The phrase once used to describe Lord Byron captures the heart of Byromania: a scene-based mini larp about the creation of the world’s first literary celebrity. Here, you step into the story of a man who became a myth, and of a society eager to consume him.
Born in the shadow of revolution, Byron rose from debt and disability to sudden fame in a Europe haunted by war and moral panic. He was adored and condemned in equal measure: a poet, a lover, and a scandal in human form. What does it mean to be idolised while still alive? And what happens to the person behind the image?
In Byromania, you play the many faces of Byron — the Celebrity, the Poet, the Lover, the Megalomaniac — and the people who shaped his life. Through a flow of player-chosen scenes, you reconstruct his lost memoirs and explore ambition, identity, desire, and self-destruction.
This is not a historical reenactment, but a poetic reimagining: our Byron, seen through modern eyes. It is a story about how legends are born, consumed, and burned away.

Byron was many men: Celebrity, Poet, Lover, Megalomaniac. Together they form one restless soul — brilliant, flawed, unforgettable.
3–4 players and a GM, about four hours, a quiet room, printed handouts, music, and a small red object: the Cornelian.
